1. After UPS and FedEx levied a new round of surcharges on international parcel transportation in April this year, they recently issued a notice again for temporary levy. Many shippers said they will be hit by rising freight rates.

2. The two courier companies took the usual steps: UPS first raised prices and announced that they would charge a surcharge from May 31; then FedEx FedEx also announced a similar fee on June 3, effective from June 8 .
