This refers to the division of the air transport area of Shanghai IATA strong standard air freight. IATA divides the whole world into three big districts, and each district is divided into several districts.

The IATA1 area includes all South and North American continents and their adjacent islands (Greenland, Bermuda, the West Indies and Caribbean islands, and the Hawaii islands). The area is divided into three districts: central the Atlantic, North Atlantic and south the Atlantic.

The IATA2 area includes all of Europe and its adjacent islands, all of Africa and its adjacent islands, and the Western Asian region, including Iran. The area is divided into three districts: the African, the European and the middle east.

The IATA3 area includes all of Asia and its adjacent islands except the IATA2 region; Australia, New Zealand and its adjacent islands; Pacific Islands other than the IATA1 region.

The IATA3 area is further divided into sub sub sub regions of the South Asian subcontinent, sub regions of Southeast Asia, sub sub regions of the Western Pacific, Japan and North korea. People's Republic of China, Hongkong, Taiwan, Russia and the east of Ural mountain are all designated in the Southeast Asian sub region of the IATA3 district.

In the process of formulating tariff regulations and related regulations, IATA fully considered the social, economic and trade conditions in different regions of the world. So this division is not completely consistent with the geographical division.
